Tom joined Harris+Co in August 2007 and is responsible for looking after the needs of a diverse portfolio of individuals and owner-managed businesses ranging from start-ups requiring clear and concise advice to help negotiate the ever-increasing administrative “red tape”, right through to multi-million pound turnover enterprises and the variety of challenges that they face.
As both a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser, Tom enjoys proactively seeking opportunities to take advantage of HMRC approved reliefs and to advise clients on how best to structure their affairs to help reduce the tax burden on them and their businesses. Aside from his interest in tax, Tom’s other principal specialism is the academy school sector. Tom takes great pride in guiding schools through the often complex conversion issues and supporting them through the first year and beyond.
Away from the office, Tom is a keen hill-walker, runner and watcher of most sports. Possibly to the annoyance of his neighbours, Tom enjoys playing the French Horn, and, as a result of his French and Spanish degree from the University of Sheffield, also likes inflicting his language skills on unsuspecting locals when on holiday!
